For the first year, we plan to make our own hay. Earlier this year we bought a team of draft horses and a sickle-bar mower, so we’re all set. Now if only the rain would stop.
We will post pictures as we work on this exciting new piece of farm life.

There is still lots of maple syrup available for sale. There are lovely 250 mL gift bottles for $15 as well as
500 mL bottles. We add cinnamon to some of our syrup, which adds a really nice flavour.
Making maple syrup is a much anticipated rite of spring on our family farm. As soon as daytime temperatures rise above zero, we begin collecting our sap by hand and boiling it in small batches over a wood fire. It takes 40L of sap to produce 1L of maple syrup. Each season, three generations of our family work together to bring this gift from our trees to the tables of appreciative eaters.
